A courier run, hurrah!

We’re off again tomorrow on a courier run and though it’s not as exotic as a trip to Bilbao, we are still happy to get it. The economic downtown has somewhat dampened activity in this field.

We have been to this city several times before and on one occasion, we were taken to see the Council Chamber in the city’s Council House. It was a rare chance to see behind the scenes as we were also shown the mayor’s office and Tigger was allowed to try the mayoral robes for size! (They fitted!)

What self-respecting English city cannot boast a castle? This city has a rather fine castle and the precinct within the walls has been turned into a beautiful garden.

There is a legendary hero associated with this city (isn’t there always?), who led a band of doughty warriors (one of them a man of the cloth) against tyrannical overlords.

Those are enough clues for now and all will be revealed in due course when I write up our trip and, I hope, show you the photos. Until then, happy guessing!

    Nottingham ?

That was my guess too. I like the blue/turquoise (can’t decide) upholstry against the honey brown of the wood in that top pix of the council chamber, and the wood graining on the doors. I adore fine wood panelling/carved woodwork.

I won’t be foolish enough to venture a guess. Have a fun trip!

I’d definitely support Snotengeham (or Snotingaham) – the land of the people of Snot. Gotta hand it to those Anglo-Saxons, they had some vivid names 🙂
