Out and about today, I collected a few pictures that appealed to me.
The Angelic always catches my attention, especially on a sunny day, although we have only been inside once. The clock, perched high on the wall, is still working… and is still wrong.
Shops like this one, the Barnsbury Grocer, brighten up their neighbourhood because they are so well kept and made so attractive to customers whose senses are dulled by the more usual minimarkets and Tesco Metros.
I am always coming across gates like this, barring the way to mysterious courtyards.
Later in the city, I was captivated by this view of the Gherkin peering over the shoulder of St Ethelburga’s in Bishopsgate.
This is the Heron Tower that like a modern Tower of Babel has been growing and growing. Having been away for a week, we found the increase in height was noticeable. Even the cranes have been extended.
When finished, it will be 242 metres high, only 2 metres shorter than London’s tallest building, Canary Wharf. Imagine the view from up there!
